Office of Frank B. Hine, General Agent for The Howe Sewing Machines 553 Broadway Albany, N.Y. Feb 21st 1870 All communications should be addressed to Frank B. Hine, Agent Thos. C. Durant Esqr 20 Nassau st. New York Sir, On the 17th of March 1869 Miss Louisa McFarland of the city + County of Albany, state of New York bought of you 80 acres of land in Johnson Co Iowa and paid Four Hundred Dollars on the delivery of your bond and is to pay Three Hundred Dollars on the 17th of March 1870 and Three Hundred Dollars on the 17th of March 1871. She wishes to know if she can pay the Three Hundred Dollars due the 17th of the coming March to you in New York, and whether she can at the same time pay the Three Hundred coming due March 1871 as it is easier for her to do the business here than to send the Money to Iowa, and she would like to pay it all at one time and get her deed. An early reply is respectfully solicited Respectfully Yours Frank B. Hine
