Memorandum from Berry Bros. & Co. 3, St. James's Street, London, S.W. June 1877 Established Two Centuries. Recipe for Cyder Cup. To a bottle of Champagne Cyder add two ounces Sugar, one sliced Lemon, one wine-glass Orange Brandy, one pint broken Ice, and one bottle Soda Water; flavour to taste with a little Balm, Borage or slice of Cucumber. A wine-glass of Sherry or Brandy may be added if desired. We have much pleasure in again advising you that we have selected a quantity of the "Finest Devonshire Cyder" of last year's make, the quality of which appears to be better than that of the previous season; this we have carefully bottled and it is now in excellent condition. The demand for this refreshing & wholesome summer beverage we find to be constantly increasing, Cyder being now recommended by many medical men for ordinary use. It is admirably adapted to be made into a Cup & owing to its almost perfect freedom from spirit & its efficacy in quenching the thirst is much appreciated as a drink for shooting & cricketing parties. Your orders shall receive our best attention.
