and Mr Day went for a ride. John McCallister and Otto came then and told of another girl so I went back with John to see about her and she partly promised to come. Rob went west. Tuesday January 4th 1881. I cleaned up the house this morning and ironed some. Mr Pentzer and his brother came this morning. Mr Day and I went to the north part of town in the afternoon to see about a girl up there but were disappointed again. When we came home found John Helmick and Mr Jackson had come. I helped get the supper over Mr Stone came in the evening I put in my spare minutes knitting on Mr Days mittens. Weather cold. Hattie improves slowly. We got a dressed hog today from Aunt Em. Wednesday January 5th 1881. I was busy about the work most of the day and in the evening Otto and I went to Fanny Robinsons wedding. It was a very pleasant affair and Fanny got some
