Saturday July 23rd 1881 Well Well I am thirty years old today. We got out work done up and sat down to sew quite early Win was here. I made a little extra preperation for dinner as the boys had sent word they were coming down and jist as we were ready to set the table. Mother and Lib Stevens came. We had a jolly dinner and after it was over they completely surprised me with some beautiful presents and just the things I wanted most. Otto gave me a card receiver. Bob an elegant album and John a beautiful parasol. I really felt I did not deserve such nice things. I prize them very highly. The girls stayed most all the afternoon and we had a good visit. I went up town after supper but did not stay long. After I came back worked some more on my skirt. This has been a day to remember. Who wouldent be thirty if it brought so much pleasure.
