Thursday January 1st 1880 It was late when we got up this morning and had only got our work done when Aunt Em and Grand-mother came. In a little while Aunt Mary and Minnie came and Uncle Jim and John Whetstone were here for dinner. Mrs Holson was here too. We devoted the day to washing. Just before night I went to town of an errand. Rob and Hatt went to Pauls in the evening to a party. I sewed a little while and went to bed early. Friday January 2nd 1880 I ironed this forenoon. Rob and Hatt did not get up till nearly noon and then the girls went over to Wins to visit. Rob and Ed Jones were there for dinner. I sewed all the afternoon and got me a skirt fixed. We had oysters for supper and it was late when we got it over. I sewed carpet rags in the evening.
