Bath Whetstones (122) A quarter of a pound of flour, two ounces of fine sifted Sugar, a few currants and a few carraway Seeds, two ounces of butter, all mixed up with the whites of between two or three eggs. Roll the paste very thin and cut it into shapes. Little Cakes (123) Half a pound of butter beat to a cream four eggs, half a pound of sugar finely sifted, a pound of flour, half a pound of currants well washed and picked, drop the paste in bits the size of a walnut on buttered papers or tins. Queen Cakes. (124) One pound of Sugar sifted, one pound well dried flour, one pound of butter, eight eggs, half a pound of currants, nutmeg and mace equal quantities work your butter to a cream and put in your sugar, beat your eggs half an hour and put them to your butter by taking the froth off as it rises. Beat the whole well together and when ready for the oven put in your flour, spices and currants sift a little sugar over them and bake in tins
