For the Hooping Cough Dissolve a sample of tartar in a 1/4 of a pint of soft water, and ten grains of cochineal finely powdered, sweeten this with lump Sugar give to an Infant the 4th part of a Table Spoon full four times a day - from four years of age and upwards a spoonful - may be taken the relief is immediate Mrs [illegible] Jepson Plate Powder 6 oz of prepared harts horn 1/4 oz of [alholize meaing?], all pounded together in a mortar and mixed about the thickness of cream with water or spirits of wine or gin if the silver is much tarnished.
