Turtle or Norfolk Punch Mrs May Steep the rinds of 18 Lemons in 5 Quarts of old rum 48 hours, in a stone jug closely covered - then pour it into a large earthen pan with 5 Quarts of cold spring water, add 3 pounds of fine lump sugar, and the juice of all the Lemons, care must be taken to keep out all the pips & the juices must be well strained grate in 2 or 3 Nutmegs (one pint of old Noyeau adds to the flavour) finally pour in 2 Quarts of boiling milk - let the whole stand 2 hours, then fine it well 2 or 3 times carefully thro' jelly bags & bottle it for use A Bread Cake Half a quartern of dough - 1/2 lb of Currants 1/2 lb of Butter 3 Eggs Sugar to taste -
