Frilled muffitees in two colours 4 pins Cast on 60 stitches 22, 22, & 24 - rib 2 stitches & knit 2 alternately for 35 rounds - For 2nd Colour knit one plain round rib 3 rounds then 1 plain round - rib in this receipt means pearl For 1st Colour - Bring wool forward & knit 2 stitches together alternately for 4 rounds - knit 1 plain stitch in order to change the pattern, bring the wool forward take off a stitch, knit a stitch & then bring the slip stitch over the one do this 4 rounds, but at the beginning of 2 round let go the 3rd stitch which is one too many and the loose stitch is always the one to be knitted there will always be an odd stitch at the end of every pin put it on the next pin - 2nd Colour - 1 plain round 3 ribbed rounds - 1st Colour - 1 plain round, then 3 rounds 2 stitches ribbed & 2 plain alternately - next round, knit 1 make 1 knit 1 rib 1 make 1 next 3 rounds knit 3 rib 3 alternately then knit 1 make 1 knit 1 make 1 knit 1 rib 1 make 1 rib 1 make 1 rib 1 & over again 3 rounds knit 5 rib 5 alternately Then knit 1 make 1 knit 3 make 1 knit 1 rib 1 make 1 rib 3 make 1 rib 1 & over again 2nd Colour - knit 1 plain round knit 8 rib 7 alternately 4 rounds Take off loosely Mrs Paley - Oct 5th 1844 -
