January, Wednesday, 1, 1862. Very cold day. I went out calling in the morning Festival at the Congregational Church. I went out to John Trimbles and had a good supper. Jonathan & I called on Mrs. Higgins and She Promised us a fine Supper Sometime During the year While there Miss Higgins favored us with [some?] Nice music on the Piano She Sings & Plays Extremely well for the time She has been practising. After Enjoying Ourselves for some time proceeded to Misses Kings where we made a Short Call and from there To Congers and this concluded our calls for the day
