January, FRIDAY 31, 1862. It is not quite so cold this morning as usual and I thought we would do a good days work at Invoicing but we have been bothered so much with people coming in to talk that we have done but very little at it to day. This morning Just after we had got to the store there was an alarm of fire given and we all ran as fast as we could but it was of no use for the House was burned before we got there it was ocupyed by Mr. [Seber?] He saved some little clothing. but the most of his things were burned. Unkle & Aunt have gone out calling this Evening and Mother & I are alone with the Children.
