February, FRIDAY, 14, 1862. This is a very Cold day and last night was the coldest night of the season by far notwithstanding the cold my 2 Unkles came Home about 8 o clock but they were very cold indeed The thermometer ranged from 24 to 30 all night. it has moderated considerable since morning I think I will stay at Home to night I wish the mail would come as this is Valentines day I am expecting some valentines thought I cant say I crave any. I wish I had something new to read to night for the time goes very slow with me now iff I could only visit my Father I think it would do me good for I am so lonesome.
