February, FRIDAY, 21, 1862. We received some little more news from our troops that were in the Battle at Ft. Donaldson and that little was as we expected very sad news By a Telegraph Dispatch from Major N.P. Chipman we learn that He is seriously wounded and that Samuel Mealy and Mr. Weaver was killed all of the seckond Iowa, on Last night I watched with Mr. Ball. who is lying very Low with Typhoid fever and I feel very bad to day We started to take a sleigh ride Last evening out to the Rev Coopers to a Donation Party and had a good time We got considerable of clothing Donated we came Home at 10 oclock and I went to bed and slept till 7 o'clock.
