February, TUESDAY, 25, 1862. This is one of the most Plesant days of the season by far I would like to take a sleigh ride to night but I guess it will be out of the question as I feel very bad therefore I cannot go this evening. I wrote a letter to Ohio for Mr McAvoy also one to my Father. We got some Important news last evening from the Late Battle and our Troops were not slaughtered so bad as first reported the mail has just arrived and I think we will have something more Important. Conductor Dow was married last Sunday evening to Miss Grondike last the boys gave them a Shivaree I must go for the mail.
