March MONDAY 3 1862. A very windy snowy stormy day this and the snow is Drifting so bad that People can not come to town and we have had no mail since Last Friday oh but I would like to get a letter or two and some war news also We had Robert Fulton to eat Dinner with us to day Mr Cleaves has not been at the store to day I expect He is still unwell, we just now received last Saturdays mail and there was no news of Importance I got no letters but I suppose some one else did. It is thought that N.P. Chipman will have to have His leg taken off for He is worse than it was at first thought to be this was a sad affair...
