March, TUESDAY, 25, 1862. Oh, what a delightful morning this but it is so muddy that we cannot get about, I thought some of going duck hunting to day but I guess I will not get a chance Johnathan and I were out last night we had a very good time. I was helping drive hogs up to the cars to day and it was the muddiest [tramp?] I ever saw I dont want to take another soon. I received an Invitation to day to a party on Friday night I shall have to go down and see maggy, and then and there I will wind up this running round at night It is mail time and no mail yet. I look for a letter from New Athens this evening.
