April, THURSDAY, 3, 1862. This is the prettiest day of the season very warm and nice and people are coming to town in great numbers. Unkle Dan and I went down to the creek to shoot some Ducks we had the satisfaction to shoot at several but was fortunate enough not to kill any, we saw a large fox sqirrel and it ran up a tree Unkle clime up and chased it down but we could not catch it. When we came home we were very tired and hungry after supper we went to a singing school and heard some very good Music.
