April, FRIDAY, 4, 1862. This morning it was very dark and gloomy for a while it was so dark one could scarcely see anything and there followed a storm of wind rain and Hale but now it looks somewhat brighter the sun is now shining Brightly and the day is wearing away more Pleasantly the mail just came in and we are looking for some Important war news our troops are expecting a big fight down near Corinth Tennessee soon the mail Brought no new for me, I must close the store early to night and get some sleep or go up the Spout.
