April FRIDAY, 18 1862. The wind blowes very Cold from the North this morning and I dont think it will rain any this morning but it is so muddy one can hardly walk around any. I have just got back from witnesing a little fight on the other side of the square between the old man Thompson and Whitcomb neither was hurt very badly I think no mail to day as yet and we are all anxiously awaiting the war news I think I will have to go out calling to night for I dont know what else to do to kill time It is about time was going to supper so I must quit this.
