April, MONDAY, 28 1862. This is a very dull day both in appearence and in a business point of view Iff we had goods we might sell a good many Mr Cleaves is going to start to Chicago to buy goods tomorrow morning no preventing Providence the mail Just arrived and report says our forces have taken New Orleans, and are Shelling York Town and that Beaurigard is evacuating Corinth Tennessee. Three Cheers for the Stars & Stripes I got no letters to day It appears to me as Iff people have all forgotten me but I dont care for I can get along without them.
