April, WEDNESDAY, 30, 1862. Another very pretty day I have Just been up and left my measure for a pair of pants I am to get them this week I bought the material of [Hall?] for I thought Unkle George asked too much for his cassimere but the better off a man gets in this worlds goods the more he wants. I would like to go out calling to night but I suppose I will have to attend prayer meeting. the Farmers have got pretty much all their small grain in the ground the mail brought the news confirming the taking [of?] New Orleans by our Forces.
