May, Friday, 16, 1862. This is a lovely day. one of the nicest of the season but there is not many Farmers in town, they are all busy planting corn. I look for a large turn out on tomorrow as they are to have a Mass meeting for the purpose of appointing a sanitary committee to attend on the wounded at the next Battles. The mail brought no news of Importence to day I think of going to a party at the Rev Shearers this evening, or rather singing school for the purpose of improving our music
