May, Friday, 23, 1862. This is a splendid morning and looks as Iff it would be nice all day, but I dont think we will have mutch trade to day for the Farmers will be Planting corn, but we will have to wait their time they will come in and trade some time. I feel a sleepy this morning for I was out a little late last night. I am going to quit this running at night it dont do me any good. I wish I could travail awhile till I would get broke off such business. the mail Brought no Important news and no letters for me but I dont care. I can live without letters I have made arrangements to call on Miss Brownlee this evening, and see how she likes this country, but I feel more like going to bed more than calling.
