May, Monday, 26 1862 This is a very pretty day indeed. we are not selling many goods we have not sold many goods since we commenced selling for cash but we are determined to live up to our word. the mail brought no additional news with regard to the war I am begining to think that secession is about played out and I do hope so too. I received a letter from my Old Friend Maggie to day she is well and has granted me permission to write Her again, and I kind O think I will very soon, I intend going to a party this evening Iff all is well down to Mr Higgins.
