June, FRIDAY, 13, 1862. This day is exceedingly warm and has the appearence of rain but I hope it will not rain for I want to take a little ride this afternoon. I had Intended writing my mother to day but is so very warm that I cannot think of it without sweating. by to days mail it appears that Gen Fremont has had another engagement with the Rebels in Western Va. I believe he was scuccessful in driving them off I got no letters to day but I will look on and look ever. It is so warm I hardly know what to do.
