July, TUESDAY, 1, 1862. It is a very fine morning and nothing to do I wish I was out in the country to spend a week or two I believe I would have better health and feel something near right I have not had a letter for some time I dont see what is the matter with my Fathers folks that they do not write. the mail to day brings news of a battle before Richmond whitch went in our favor I think they had better quit fighting pretty soon as they will have no one to fight I am going to try and get another good nights sleep to night Iff Possible.
