July, WEDNESDAY, 9, 1862. This is gloomy dark moring but very warm It raind very hard last night and I think it will rain more to day. as I Intended I called last night & spent a few hours very plesantly, now I think I am done calling for a week, this is a very Dull rainy day scarcely any person in town We get no war news of any Importence only they are still fighting away, Recruiting goes on very slow here and I think Iff they raise many more troops here they will have to Draft them. John K Dill & his Lady came back from the wedding tour yesterday
