July, SATURDAY, 19, 1862. This morning is very nice the Clouds have all cleared away and it now looks as Iff we would have some nice weather, there is great excitement with regard to enlisting they talk of Drafting but do not believe they will for they can get enough men without. We got some little news to day from the war Rumor says Gen Curtis was taken and so were 6,000 men. Iff this proves to be true it is very bad Indeed. We traded some considerable to day but cotton goods are advacing so fast that we cannot keep pace with prices but this war will fetch things all right yet.
