August, MONDAY, 18, 1862. This is a very nice day but recruiting goes on very slow, I recd a letter from my sister to day their Babe died the first day of this month they are having very sad afflictions in their family, she also wrote that they were expecting a Draft in that state in a few days and the people were very mutch excited about it. I went to Marshall Last night to recruit but got no recruits they come in very slow I think it will keep us very busy to raise our Company again the time.
