August, WEDNESDAY, 27, 1862. It has been a very pretty day but rather more dull than usual a good many people in town but is very dull nevertheless. I have been very lonesome all day I dont know when I have felt so unpleasant a to day no very Interesting news from the war department. I thought of going out calling tonight but I feel so unwell I believe I shant go, I must write to my mother and sister tomorrow Iff I can make it suit. We still have three Companys in this place ready for to start to the war.
