we sent a telegraph dispatch to John but the news did not reach him untill eight on monday evening and he started on tuesday morning at four o clock and got here wednesday about four o clock and the got here at three Thursday and started for home yesterday he will write to you soon the cause of his death was sores that that he had on his back the gangreen took place and ended his life in a few short days he did not seem to suffer mutch and slept most of the time after he grew worse
