she got there and his remains were brought to Sion and his funerel services were attended last Satturday by a large congregation he had been a Prisioner at Salsberry N C and perold in February I have not mutch news to write it is a general time of health we had a vary cold winter and a grate deal of snow but the Spring is vary early the trees are begining to leave out and the grass is up a good bite for Cattle though it has been rather cold for three or four days and snowd all the forenoon but it is all gone now and it is quite warm this afternoon we recievd the sad inteligence of the Death of our President the 15 of April and the assasination of Mr Seward and his son Fred it seems to throw a gloom on a whole community what will be the result in our national affairs is left to be known but I think it will be no better for the South
