we recievd a letter from John about 2 weeks since and he wrote that he was drafted in March and was examind and excepted but was examind the second time and he was excusd and got the papers that will clear him and you may think that we are all glad for I feel that we have all seen a grate deal of affliction since this war began wull I have told you that I had mutch news to write but I think I will something that will be news to you you may think that it is quear news for me to write but I guess I will tell you Nancy Franklin daughter of [gunlock?] has got a daughter and the little inosent hant got no dady its Mother said that Morris Baker was its daddy and Morris run away and now the Mother thinks that it may be romy Lang is its daddy and so it is hard telling what will be the babys name wull I guess I will close hoping to here from you soon Mother
