Friday June 3d,, 1864 Lay still all day the enemy reported falling back sent a letter to John Darling rainy today. Saturday June 4th.. Lay still all day rainy Sunday June 5th,,/64 Lay still all day all quiet the enemy reported to be falling back, not much firing heard today. Monday June 6th.. Marched this morning and went about six or seven miles halted and threw up some rifle pits, rainy, some firing heard at a distance. Tuesday June 7th.. Remained still all day all quiet received a letter from Mother today and wrote one home. Wednesday June 8th,, Lay still all day all quiet today, wrote to Sister Libbie, warm. Thursday June 9th,, Orders to march but did not go. Wrote a letter to Aunt Mary but did not send it. all quiet today Lieutenant Welch assigned to Co. K for duty. Friday June 10th,, 1864 Orders to march nine A.M. but did not go rainy today some Cannonaiding at a distance Saturday June 11th,,/64 Orders to march this morning but did not go. rainy and showery today Some Canonaiding at a distance today, no news of importance only that A. Lincoln and Aandrew Johnson are nominated for president Sunday June 12th,, 1864 Rainy all day very hard. some firing at a distance today. Monday June 13 Rainy today, lay still all day, cold and mudy. I am about Sick, some canonaiding at a distance of five or six miles Tuesday June 14th,, 1864 Went on picket about an hour then called in and the Brigade marched. I am Sick got a pass to ride in the Ambulance.
