According to what I hear Leon must be well guarded now I hear that they have got one nine pounder and a three and half pounder belonging to Morgan' s and Kellogg's Battery's that is doing well I think, though the three pounder is a light one. One year ago now I was Sick at Brooks Station I have written to John and home is all the time I can get to write the rest must wait till we get settled down and till I get some Ink, they must remember that I am where paper and such writing material is scarce and time and opertunity much scarcer. I saw Edgar today he was feeling good and cheerful he has a good position and he is a good Boy. Tell all the friends that I should be glad to hear from them and to write to them but time will not admit of it when we are marching and fighting all of the time most. I should be very glad to hear from any of them, it is so cheering to get a good long letter when on the Battlefield or on the march now I hope they will all write Direct your letters as before only put on the 20th,, Corps in place of 11th,, Corps, your letter found me in good spirits and I hope this will you the same
