Monday June 27th,, 1864 Moved today in advance and the fourth Corps charged a Hill, very warm built breastworks and lay there all night, one man wounded Tuesday June 28th,, 1864 some Skirmishing today but no heavy firing heard very warm wrote to John Darling Wednesday June 29th,,1864 Lay quiet all day in breastworks wrote to Libbie some firing today but not heavy. I am put in Serg't,, Thursday June 30th,,1864 Lay quiet all day went to the creek and had a good wash. received a letter from Libbie. Our Division was relieved after dark by the 14th,, Corps and we moved to the right and relieved the 23d,, Corps Friday July 1st,,1864 Relieved from the front line and went back to the second line about one P.M. at or just before sundown our Batteries opened in front
