Wednesday July 6th,,1864 Marched about a mile towards the left and joined on the right of the 14th Corps, lay quiet all night and all quiet except a little picket firing and occationaly a Canon shot very warm today. Thursday July 7th,,1864 Moved up on top of the Ridge and put up tents, very warm, some canonaiding on the right today and picket firing along the whole line, heavy Canonaiding on the right between sundown and dark, commenced making out the muster rolls, had a good wash in the Nickajack Creek today. Friday July 8th,,1864 Lay quiet all day finished the muster rolls today, very warm. Saturday July 9th,,1864 Done out my washing and went to Camp and there I found three letters for me two from Mother and one from Harty. Wrote to Mother and was detailed on picket, very warm
