Sunday July 10th,,1864 This morning the Rebs have fallen back acrossed the Chattahoochee and we advanced the picket line to the River, the Rebels gave up some very Strong Earthworks which cost them a great deal of work, very warm. Monday July 11th ,,1864 Relieved from picket and went into Camp, at four P.M. very warm today. Tuesday July 12th,, 1864 Wrote and sent a letter to Mother and one to Harty. warm Wednesday July 13th,,/64 sent a letter to John Darling and one to Ettie G. and wrote one to William Ross, but did not send it, very warm today. Thursday July 14th,, 1864 Went a berrying this morning and got a quart after about two hours work sent the dunning letter to Ross. Friday July 15th,,/64 Wrote to Adelia S. P. today, warm today Saturday July 16th,, 1864 Lay quiet all day in Camp, very warm every day now. Sunday July 17th,, 1864 Washed my Shirt this morning and went to Camp and we had marching orders to go at 11. 0clock A.M. but did not go till 3 P.M. and crossed the River about four miles up above where we lay.
