Tuesday Aug 23d,,1864 About the same today the usual Skirmishing at the front today Wednesday Aug 24th,,1864 Not quite so well this day some Skirmishing today. Orders to move tomorrow morning Thursday Aug 25th,,1864 Got up at four oclock and moved as soon as light I rode in the ambulance crossed the Chattahoochee and put up the Hospt near the rail-road very hard up with the diarrhea today got some medicine and rest quite well Friday Aug 26th,, Feel some better this morning but rather sleepy from some pills I took last night Diarrhea better, no news of importance today. warm and sunny today no rain today Saturday Aug 27th,,1864. I feel some better this morning no rain today warm with cold nights. Sunday Aug 28th,, some better today I go down to the Sutler and get some paper and write a letter to Mother but did not send it. Monday Aug 29th,,1864 Sent a letter to mother today. About the same today, Warm and no rain with cold nights. Tuesday Aug 30th,,1864 Wrote a letter to Adelia today, warm and pleasant today but cold nights Wednesday Aug 31st,,1864 Wrote to Lyb but did not send it will send it tomorrow, pleasant today Thursday Sept..1st,, 1864 In the night heard something that sounded like canonaiding but afterwards proved to be the Enemy blowing up their ammunition in Atlanta Friday Sept. 2d.1864 Rumor here that Atlanta is taken and part of our Corps gone to
