letter. I say Oh -------- well never mind what. The weather has been most beautiful all the time since I have been in the State withe the exception of 2 or 3 rainy days. It is raining slightly tonight and I think no doubt will become cold soon. I have not saw a drop of snow fall since I have been here and if evry winter was as mild as this one has been so far in this part of the country I should like to live in such a climate; You spoke of being 2 weeks without receiving a letter from me which I will assure is not my fault for I have wrote one and sometimes two evry week since I was at home. And the way letters reach me from you convinces me that there is a screw loose in postal affairs somewhere between Camp Wickliff and Liberty for sometimes a letter is 2 or 3 weeks and then again only 2 or 3 days in comeing through. I am truly glad that the Ladies aid society done so well with their Supper on Christmas Eve and hope their efforts on New years Eve proved equall as remunerative. The Wabash boys of Co. I think the people of Little Union are very benevolent and they have their warmest thanks for the gloves socks &c sent them. They say they have never got a thing from the Wabash country since they left there last spring. There is considerable of sickness among the boys here at present and numbers are unfit for duty but none are sick with dangerous complaints that I Know of. A goodly number have the Mumps. and then again a great many left too much of their money at certain places I will not name where in Louisville to enjoy pleasant feelings 9 or 10 days afterwards but I guess that it will not Kill any of them. Oliver Goodwin is sick in Hospital with fever but not bad. All the rest of the Union Co boys are up and doing
