I trust, as a friend, you will use your influence in getting another blanket for him. The society has none on hand nor can I get one in the place. He is very much disheartened, which I am sorry to know, as it may operate unfavorably on his health. I think it is very unjust that he is not allowed a furlough, as he has never had one since he has enlisted, while not another one in the company but what has had that privilege. I am very sorry that he has put himself in the position he has when his education, &c. has fitted him for a superior station. Your family is well. Give my respects to Capt. Patterson Yours, truly, D.
