we moved to Liberty, but perhapse by this time $5,00. is all it would bring. As regards your Fathers Note I will leave that matter entirely with you and I want you to do as you think best in the matter. You can apply it there or you can lay it by to build a house. I was told this evening that the pay master would be here next week and I hope he will for I expect Beck and others would like to have their money for what we owe them but they will have to do as I do that is wait. Speaking of Postage Stamps, I sent to Henry Husted for $1.00 for myself and Serring and Burgess. We can get them but have to pay 5 cts each here. The dialy papers that you sent me come to hand and ware well appreciated by both myself and the boys that are with me, as it is lonesome here as we are not allowed to visit or be visited and we put in our time mostly in reading the Ledgers and when the daileys come it made a change. In looking over the Commercial I saw the names of a number of Federal prisoners that the Rebels have at different places in the South in which it stated what State and Regiment they ware from and I was glad to see the names of Pat Kildy and John Wilson who are the two that ware missing at Elkwater when I had them out on picket. Pat I see claims to have belonged to Co. F of this Reg. but as he was the only Kildy in the Reg he must be the one. Wilson is reported from Co. "J" I am glad they ware taken in place of being Killed, Oliver Goodwin got back from the Hospital today and is nearly well, you will have to do with 1/2 sheet this time for the mail is ready to start and I must hurry. I will write again in 3 days. Tell Newton to write to me. Your Affectionate Husband A. F. Davis I will write to Orrilla next time}
