February 6th 1862 Mrs. Sarah Davis Dear dear wife Again after several days Silence I propose to spend a few moments in writing to you, and will proceed by saying that I am enjoying excellent health, hoping this will find you and the 3 sweet little girls enjoying the Same. You no doubt think extra long time between letters again as I have written none to you for a week or more. I should have written last Monday night but our company was on picket and I did not get to sleep any monday night and tuesday night I was too sleepy, and yesterday I was Officer of the Guard consequently I did not get to sleep any last night but sleepy as I am tonight I will put if off no longer. I received your letter of the 30th on Monday evening while on picket. Last night I received 3 letters. One from Mark One from Ferman and one from Henry Husted. This evening I received one from Ella, so you see I have been well supplied with letters so far this week. And will be kept busy all my Idle time for a few days in answering them The Box spoken of as being sent by the Ladies from Liberty came to hand last Sunday and was gladly received particularly the eadible and the Socks. Evrything was in good order, and We that is Burgess Serrny and Davis had a supper that night at which Cap. Patterson Lieut McKinney and Corp Keelor partook with us and in connection with a good supper we had a good social time generally. I wrote an acknowledgement of the receipt of the goods and directed to Mrs. Conklin or Thompson. I hope they have received before this time You said they wanted to know if there was anything more we wanted. I will therefore say that there is
