and that she is going with them. She says nothing about Sams going a Bushwhacking. By the way, who is Molly Bush. Why do you think I would have any objection to you going to the wedding, did I ever refuse such a favor. Mark writes that he is in excellent health and would be nothing els but a Soldier. Bully for him. Hen wrote about the Office I am Sorry it turned out so but all right. Just keep dunning Sam Miner as that is all you can do with such as him. Just while I thing of it I want Some Postage Stamps from you or Hen one or the other. That wood pile rather gets me Cant you powder a little of it by way of experiment. Tell Beck that he shall have his money as soon as the Pay Master comes around, but the Lord and Gen Buel only knows when that will be and they wont tell. I Started by Express this Morning a Small Box to you containing my Shall and grey coat (as it is so warm I do not need them) also 17 1/2 lbs of Roasted Coffee that is all the kind I could get here as that is the kind the boys are furnished with. I had to pay 20 1/2 cts per lb for it which is the actual cost of it by the Ship load at this time You had better put it in that tin box so that you can keep it from the air as it will keep better. I think Coffee will be worth 50 cts per lb before 3 months. I was on a visit to the 36th this evening and learned that Maj Bennett had gone home on a furlough, hope he will have a good time. A.J. Calkins and Homer Smith have just been ordered to Louisville as they are neither of them able to march, and I guess none will go who are not able to walk and carry their Knapsack. I will close for the present as it is 11 Oclock and as I slept none last night I am sleepy. Still direct to New Haven until further Orders. Perhaps I will write again before we march but I wont promise [certain?]. Tell Orrilla I am looking for her letter. Good bye Your Affectionate Husband A.F. Davis
