me but little time for rest. The discharges of Wm Appleton and others of which I spoke in my last are not yet finished as they have not been sent back from Head Quarters yet, consequently they will have to go to the Barracks for a few days until the papers are sent on to me to finish and sent back to them again consequently they may not be able to get home for a week or more, You will see by this 1/2 sheet that I am not writing a long letter tonight as I must get some sleep as I have plenty to do tomorrow, But I will write again as soon as we stop. consequently I will make this one short but it will let you know where I am and that I am well and that I hope will be some satisfaction. While in town tonight I bought me a new Sash for which I paid $7,50 which is cheap enoughf. Most evrything has been reduced nearly one half in price since we come here and buisness of evry kind is looking up, considerable and the people here begin to think that the Yankees are not quite so bad as they thought they ware. Enclosed I send you not a ten dollar bill but a ten cent bill which is nearly all the kind of change they have here but it is as good as any here as evry one takes it and that makes it good. There is all denominations from 5 cents up. It is now two Oclock and I will close for the present hoping to write again in 3 or 4 days, Therefore for the present good night. your affectonate husband A. F. Davis
