The water that we often have to use is most miserable and such as a decent horse or cow would not touch unless compelled to by actual want but Still we often have to use it both for cooking and drinking. I think we will move soon to someplace where water is plenty if we are not put on a march. The country litterly swarms with insects and vermin such as worms of evry kind. and wood ticks by the million which often get on to us and insert their bills into our flesh and there they stick and you can pull their bodies off but their heads never. I often have to scare a green Lizzard out of my bed before laying down therefore you see I am not always without bedfellows, but one gets used to almost anything and we have been used to liveing like hogs so much lately that sometimes
