says he expects his father to see him in a few days if he comes or any one els from Liberty comes Send them by them but if no one is comeing Send them immediately by Express as we may not stay here but a very short time and if they are sent immediately I may have a chance to get them I am Sorry to hear that you are out of Money but within a day or two after you get this I will forward you Some as we expect to get 4 months pay tomorrow. I am badly in need of clothing and many other things which I will be obliged to buy while here therefore I may not be able to Send you as much as I otherwise would but I will send all I can. I will await a short time before adviseing in regard to where you had better live until I come home as now I do not Know myself what is best to do under the circumstances. You cannot immagine how bad it makes me feel to hear that Mother is going to move away. If I could only be at home a few days I could then form a better opinion of what would be best to be done but is useless to think of comeing at present I am in hopes of a speedy close of the war and in fact when I see the amount of troops which we now have in the field I cannot see how it will be possible for the Rebs to prolong it much longer and with the force we now have if we cannot whip them during the comeing winter we never can but I Say we will whip them. You must excuse this pencil writing for I have no writing material only what is in my trunk and no Knowing when I will see that. My best love to our dear little girls and my regards to all. Write often for now I can get your letter in 2 days and not much risk. If I had material I could write all night but as it is I must Stop Direct to Louisville Your affectionate husband A. F. Davis
