We have a new man running this thing now but I never Saw any thing as bad under Buells administration, but things may take a turn soon but, I am a Buelle man yet. The enemy are said to be in Strong force at Murfreesborough, but how Strong I am unable to Say. I See no signs of a movement on them Soon, but Still we may go soon. There was one Division moved down that way yesterday and there has been considerabe of cannonadeing in that direction this moring but whether it is at the enemy or only artillery practice I am unable to Say Gen Wood left us yesterday on leave of absence and Gen Haskell is now in command of our Division. Sale. F. Fry has resigned as Quarter Master of the 15th and I understand goes home to take command of a Battery. I hear that Col Tom Bennett was not welcomed very highly by the 69th when he went to take command of them and that all of the Officers of the Regt Signed a remonstrance to Gov. Morton against him taking the command. But let him be ever so coldly received there it was with Sincere regret that the men of the 36th parted with him as he was well liked as an officer by all of the Regt. There are a great many officers resigning in the different Regt, and many are behind Sick or playing sick and many under arrest for going home from Louisville and our Regt is now so reduced by Details Sickness (playing Sick I mean) Arrest and Resignations that we have only about one officer to the company. Among the resignations which ware accepted was Capt A. G. Patterson of Co. "I" He left us about 4 days since with the hearty contempt of evry man of the company and when the boys heard that his resignation had been accepted they gave three cheers and a groan for him. The Arrangement of Our company will now be McKinney Capt. Davis 1st & Sering 2nd Lieut & Burgess Orderly Sergt. I am now detailed as Commander of Co. "G" they haveing no officer for duty belonging to the company
