he must be unable for the service or be So trifling that they get tired of seeing him about, and will let him resign to get clear of him. And that they do not appear to think is the case with me for I have not missed a days duty for over one year. But be patient for I may be slipping into your room some of these time when you are least thinking of it. Tell Pernelia I am very thankful for her letter and will answer it soon. I am glad to hear that Hatty or Dolly as you all call her is getting along so well and hope to hear of her walking soon. By Permelias letter I see that Mark is Still in Missouri. Hope he will get out of the State Some time soon. I have written to you to mother and to Ferman and enquired of you all, to Know what Regt Wm Lee is in but by some means none of you ever answer the question. Tell Orrilla if she cannot get the life of Boone before I get home I will buy it for her. I am glad to hear that you need not go to Liberty to have your things removed. By the way I wonder why Henry Husted never writes to me anything about buying the house. I have never heard from him since I sent him the money and all I Know about it is what little you and Orrilla wrote. I hear that Dutch Fred is hosler for T. W. Bennett in the Army Poor Fred, so much for whiskey and cards. The weather has been quite cold for some week or more with a slight Snow, but now it is quite warm and clear. As you and Rilla often tells me what you have for dinner I will tell you what we had today. Pancakes beef Steak, Coffee Sugar Molasses, Mustard Vinegar Molasses, Butter Caned Peaches and Honey. Good dinner we thought, and many thanks to some of our good friends at Liberty for the Butter Honey & Peaches The fireing in our front has entirely ceased and evrything is now quiet. Have heard nothing of the results. No more for a day or two Your Affectionate Husband A. F. Davis
