March 1st 63 Dear Sally I was away on duty when Mr Cooper started home therefore I did not get to send this by him The high waters washed away the R R Bridge across Mill Creek between here and Nashville 4 days since and there has been no trains running during that time so that I could not send by express any sooner. There has a great amount of rain fell here within the last week and the waters are very high. Lieut Bedford lakes command of Co. "K" today so I will be relieved and go to my own company again John M.
